With an emphasis on strengthening, stretching and conditioning to not only improve physical impairments, but also to prevent future injuries from occurring, a physical or occupational therapist's goal is to restore patients back to their highest possible level of function by devising & applying individualized therapeutic treatment that are evidence-based. Interventions may include:

  • Providing manual therapy such as soft tissue & joint mobilization, traction, neural glides, ischemic compression to help improve one’s symptoms and overall quality of life

  • The use of thermal and electrical modalities for pain management

  • Education of various therapeutic exercises to help increase muscle function, coordination, endurance and mobility

  • Education of self-stretching strategies to increase soft tissue and joint mobility

  • ADL & self-care management training

  • Development of a home exercise program
